  • One of the greatest, if not the greatest, supporters of Harding athletics during its history.
  • Served as president of Harding for 22 years, and during that time, could be found on the intramural softball and football fields.
  • A catalyst, along with M.E. Berryhill, for Harding's resumption of intercollegiate athletics in 1957.
  • During his administration, the school's athletic facilities were greatly improved ... the improvements included the construction of the 82,000-square foot athletic complex, which bears his name, and Jerry Moore Memorial Baseball Field.
