  • Served as the head coach of the Harding football team for 24 years from 1964-1987.
  • Led the Bisons to AIC titles in 1972 and 1976.

  • His 1972 squad finished the season 10-1, including a 30-27 victory over Langston in the Cowboy Bowl, still Harding's lone postseason football victory ... Harding finished the season ranked No. 6 in the final NAIA poll.
  • Was the sixth-winningest coach in NAIA with 114 victories when he retired in 1987.
  • Coached 10 NAIA All-Americans, four Academic All-Americans and 63 All-AIC honorees.
