SEARCY – Senior guard Bailey St. Clair had a single-game record 10 steals as the Harding women's basketball team defeated Lambuth 82-39 on Thursday in non-conference action at the Rhodes Field House. The Lady Bisons improve to 2-0 on the season and extend their non-conference home winning streak to 26.
The Harding single-game steals record was previously held by Rachel Raglin (1996-00) who had nine against Cameron on Jan. 1, 2000.
Along with St. Clair's steals, Harding also set a single-game record with 28. It was the most in a game since the Lady Bisons had 27 against Arkansas Baptist on Nov. 15, 2004.
Junior guard Sierra Rollins and freshman guard Kristen Celsor, who came off the bench for the Lady Bisons, led Harding with 11 points. Rollins hit 5-of-6 from the field and was 1-of-1 from behind the 3-point line for the Lady Bisons. Celsor also led Harding on the boards with eight.
The Lady Bisons defense held the Lady Eagles to 10 field goals on the night (10-of-36, 27.8 percent). Harding also held Lambuth to 4-of-14 from behind the 3-point line (28.6 percent).
Lambuth was led by senior forward Maegan Sanders who had 14 points. Junior guard Ashley Franklin hit 9-of-10 free throws and ended with nine points for the Lady Eagles.
Harding dominated the paint scoring 40 points to Lambuth's 12. The Lady Bisons scored 38 points off the Lady Eagles 35 turnovers.
Harding will be back in action next Monday as they travel to Benedict in Columbia, South Carolina. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
