SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding women's basketball team is ranked No. 12 in the latest WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches' Poll released Tuesday.
The Lady Bisons (7-1) dropped five spots from their No. 7 ranking last week following a 65-57 home loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday. Harding received 302 total points in the voting.
The loss came against a surging opponent, as Northwestern Oklahoma State (7-1) entered the national rankings for the first time this season at No. 22. Harding's resume also includes a victory over the current No. 4 team, Texas Woman's (7-1).
Grand Valley State (8-0) remained the unanimous No. 1 team in the country, receiving all 23 first-place votes and 575 points. Minnesota State Mankato (9-0), Lubbock Christian (9-0), Texas Woman's, and Gannon (9-1) rounded out the top five.
Harding returns to action Tuesday night on the road against Arkansas-Monticello. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
