JACKSON, Tenn. - Freshman forward Kristen Celsor scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds as the Harding women's basketball team picked up their second road victory on Saturday as they defeated Lambuth 82-56 in non-conference action. The Lady Bisons improved to 4-2 on the season.
It was Celsor's first career double-double as she hit 6-of-11 from the field and was perfect from the free throw line, hitting 5-of-5. Of her 12 rebounds, 10 of them were offensive. Celsor wasn't the only Harding player that finished with a double-double, junior forward Cherilyn McMenamy captured 14 points and had a career-high 11 rebounds for the Lady Bisons. Like Celsor, McMenamy had more offensive rebounds than defensive rebounds, ending with eight. Junior Bailey St. Clair also ended in double-figure scoring with a season-high 12 points.
Harding grabbed a season-high 56 rebounds in the game (28 offensive and 28 defensive) which tied for fifth in Harding history in rebounds in a game. It is the sixth time it has happened, the last time was against Central Baptist in 2007.
Lambuth only played six players in the game and were led by Sarah Collins who had 23 points and nine rebounds. Collins shot 8-of-16 from the field.
The Lady Bisons forced 18 turnovers in the game and had 10 steals.
The Lady Bisons head back home next Saturday, Dec. 11, as they face Ecclesia at 5:30 p.m.
