PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Harding men's tennis team looks to win its second straight road match to open the season Tuesday as it travels to meet Division I foe Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The match begins at 2 p.m.
MATCH NOTES
* Harding enters the match 1-0 after defeating Arkansas-Fort Smith 6-3 last Tuesday on the road. The Bisons won only one of the three doubles matches but responded with five wins in singles action.
* Harding's No. 2 doubles team of Alex Ford and Caleb McReynolds won its first match last week against Arkansas-Fort Smith. Adam Edwards, Helio Hashimoto, Jon Mark Rowden, McReynolds and Henrique Ruiz each won singles matches. It was the collegiate debuts for Rowden and McReynolds.
* Senior Henrique Ruiz is Harding's active leader in career singles victories with a 26-24 career record. Hashimoto has 21 wins and Edwards has 19.
* Arkansas-Pine Bluff will be playing its first match of the season when it hosts Harding.
* Harding holds a 16-1 lead in the all-time series with UAPB and has won the last three straight. The Bisons defeated the Lions 4-3 last season in Pine Bluff.
