Harding

- Harding opened its season last weekend at the Tarleton State Tournament. The Lady Bisons beat Northeastern State 6-4 to open the tournament. Harding also beat host team Tarleton State 7-5 before falling to Emporia State 5-1.  

- The Lady Bisons are led by sophomore Kinsey Beck and freshman Courtney Derrick who are both hitting above .600. Beck is hitting .667 and Derrick is hitting .636.

- Harding is still looking for its first homerun of the season. The Lady Bisons have hit five doubles and one triple.

- Harding is lead in the circle by junior Amber Rollins who is 1-0 on the season and has a 1.45 ERA. Freshman Danielle Hubbard has the Lady Bisons other win.

Rockhurst

- Rockhurst, located in Kansas City, Mo., is a NCAA Division II member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference and has an enrollment of 2,160.

- The Hawks finished last season with a 22-21 overall record and a 10-17 GLVC record.

- Rockhurst will be starting its season this weekend.

- The Hawks lost its top two hitters from last season.  Demi Plathe, the Hawks top returning hitter, hit .356 with eight homeruns and drove in 39 last season.

- Sydney Fairfield returns as the ace on the pitching staff for Rockhurst. Fairfield went 12-7 on the season with a .302 ERA.

Southwest Baptist

- Southwest Baptist, located in Bolivar, Mo., is a NCAA Division II member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) and has an enrollment of 3,633.

- The Bearcats will also be playing its first games of the season this weekend.

- Southwest Baptist were 4-48 last season and 0-28 in the MIAA, finishing 15th.

- Senior Londyn Backfisch led Southwest Baptist hitting .278 last season.

Northwest Missouri

- Northwest Missouri, located in Maryville, Mo., is a NCAA Division II member of the MIAA and has an enrollment of 6,014.

- The Bearcats will also be starting their season this weekend.

- Northwest Missouri finished last season with a 27-19 overall record and a 15-13 MIAA record, finishing fifth.  

- The Bearcats top returning player, senior Jordan Ereth, who hit .331 with 16 RBI.

Pittsburg State

- Pittsburg State, located in Pittsburg, Kan., is a NCAA Division II member of the MIAA and has an enrollment of 6,166.

- The Gorillas will also be starting their season this weekend.

- Pittsburg State finished last season with a 28-22 overall record and a 16-12 MIAA record finishing seventh. 

- Senior Tiffany Brown is the top returnee who hit .369 and drove in .669.

- Junior Samantha Grove is the top returning pitcher for Pittsburg State. Grove had a 7-4 record and a 3.34 ERA.

Oklahoma Panhandle State

- Oklahoma Panhandle, located in Goodwell, Okla., is a NCAA Division II member of the Heartland Conference and has an enrollment of 1,367.

- The Aggies head into the game with a 1-3 record as their only win came against University of the Southwest.

- Sophomore Samantha Arledge leads Oklahoma Panhandle batting .636 with seven hits and two RBI. She is also the Aggies leading pitcher with a 1-1 record in 8 2/3 innings.

Drury

- Drury, located in Springfield, Mo., is a NCAA Division II member of the MIAA and has an enrollment of 1,607.

- The Panthers head into the game with a 0-4 record after the Angelo State Classic last weekend. One of Drury's losses came against Great American Conference foe East Central 7-2.

- Freshman Kari Hillenburg leads the team hitting .357 with five hits and two RBI.

- Last weekend, sophomore Kailey Haward pitched 12 2/3 innings in three appearances for Drury. She gave up 11 hits and eight runs.
