Harding
- Harding will be playing its first regular season game since 1985.
- The Lady Bisons will dress 19 players for the tournament. The Harding team is made up of 12 freshman, four sophomores and three juniors.
- Harding was the eleventh team in the Great American Conference to add softball.
- The Lady Bisons are coached by Phil Berry who will be making his collegiate softball debut. Berry was instrumental in developing the Atlanta Vipers Fastpitch Club and has served as a head coach, member of the advisory board and chairman. He has compiled a 681-276-21 record as a travel ball coach and has five top-25 national finishes.
Northeastern State
- Northeastern State is located in Tahlequah, Okla., and has an enrollment of 7,582.
- The Riverhawks finished last season with a 27-24 overall record and a 16-10 MIAA record.
- Northeastern State will also be starting its season this weekend.
- Madison Reed, Northeastern State's top returning hitter, hit .335 last season and played in all 51 of the Riverhawks' games.
- Kayce Wooldridge returns as the ace for Northeastern State. Wooldridge had a 10-13 record with a 2.68 ERA. She also recorded four shutouts.
Tarleton State
- Tarleton State, the host team, has an enrollment of 8,917. It is a member of the Lone Star Conference.
- The Texanns head into the tournament with a 2-1 overall record as they defeated GAC foes Ouachita Baptist 9-2 and Henderson State 8-2 last weekend before falling to Delta State 10-2.
- Erika Menchaca led the Texanns , hitting .400 last weekend with four hits and a homerun.
- Randi Fentress got both of the wins for the Tarleton and has a 1.17 ERA.
Emporia State
- Emporia State is located in Emporia, Kansas and has an enrollment of 3,773.
- The Hornets will also be starting their season this weekend.
- Emporia State finished last season with a 38-20 overall record and an 18-10 MIAA record.
- Emporia State returns its top hitter from last season, Taylor Zordel, who hit .398 with 26 RBI.
