PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Harding men's tennis improved to 9-7 this season with an 8-1 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Wednesday.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff arrived at the match with only three players and forfeited the match. The coaches agreed to go ahead and play one doubles match and three singles matches.
Harding's doubles team of
Jon Mark Rowden and
Brandon Hogland defeated Leonardo Viera and Nicolas Plaza 8-5.
Mathaus Spiering won his 18th singles match of the season 6-1, 6-3 over Viera at No. 1 singles, and Germans Ugloves won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Plaza defeated Harding's
Alex Ford in a third-set super-tiebreaker at No. 2 singles.
Harding's next action is Friday against East Central in the GAC Tournament semifinals.
