Box Score BENTONVILLE, Ark. – The Harding softball team fell to the No. 7 seed Arkansas-Monticello 11-8 in the third round of the Great American Conference Tournament. The Lady Bisons were eliminated from the tournament as they finish their season with a 32-26 overall record.
Arkansas-Monticello improves to 28-29 overall.
The Cotton Blossoms took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on three hits and two Harding errors. Arkansas-Monticello scored one in the third and one in the fourth and then six in the fifth.
Harding got on the board in the top of the third inning when Jessica Greene scored on an error. The Lady Bisons added two more in the fourth when Courtney Chambers and Greene knocked in a run.
Harding scored two more in the fourth inning when Marley Edwards doubled to left center to score Marley Edwards. Chambers doubled to knock in Edwards for her second RBI and the second run of the inning.
The Lady Bisons scored one more run in the fifth and then rallied in the seventh scoring two but the Cotton Blossoms' lead was too much to overcome.
Edwards had four hits in the game for Harding. Kinsey Beck, Brookelynn Moon, Chambers and Greene all had two hits for the Lady Bisons.
Amber Rollins started the game for Harding and pitched 2 1/3rd innings. Danielle Hubbard came in and pitched two innings but got loss for Harding (12-12).
