PITTSBURG, Kan. – Junior Cara Mason set school records in the shot put and weight throw to highlight the performances by the Harding women's indoor track and field team Saturday at the Wendy's/Pittsburg State Invitational. Freshman Sierra White won the pole vault, breaking her own school record, and junior Kinga Szarzynska placed third in the 800 meters. Below is a breakdown of each event for Harding's athletes.
Track
60-meter dash – Senior Ashley Reinert placed 35th of 118 in a season-best 7.95 seconds, and sophomore Krisman Eakin was 48th in a career-best 8.04.
200 meters – Sophomore Anne-Noelle Clerima placed 33rd in 25.97, and senior Ashley Reinert was 41st in 26.20.
400 meters – Sophomore Anne-Noelle Clerima placed fourth of 51 in 57.06. Sophomore Krisman Eakin was 45th in 1:00.99.
800 meters – Junior Kinga Szarzynska placed third of 69 runners in a career-best and NCAA provisional time of 2:10.81. Senior Parker Fane was 37th in 2:24.03.
Mile – Sophomore Sydney Tabor placed 21st of 45 in 5:34.37.
60-meter hurdles – Junior Darcy Sanford was 38th in a career-best 9.60 seconds.
Distance Medley Relay – Harding's team of Parker Fane, Kinga Szarzynska, Emily Shell and Sydney Tabor placed fourth of 12 teams in 12:54.97.
Field
High Jump – Sophomore Brylan Williams cleared 1.60 meters (5-03.00) to place 12th.
Pole Vault – Freshman Sierra White won the event by clearing 3.73 meters (12-02.75). She topped her own school record with the NCAA provisional height. Anna Bristo cleared 3.18 meters (10-05.25) to place 15th.
Shot Put – Junior Cara Mason placed third and broke the school record with an NCAA provisional throw of 14.39 meters (47-02.50). Cooper Monn also had a provisional mark, placing seventh at 13.77 meters (45-02.25).
Triple Jump – Senior Emily Shell placed 21st with a mark of 10.81 meters (35-05.75). Sophomore Jenna Akins was 26th at 10.59 meters (34-09.00).
Weight Throw – Junior Cara Mason placed 16th with a throw of 14.94 meters (49-00.25), shattering her own school record by more than half a meter.
