Harding Wins Four Events, Chaigneau Sets Record Again at UCM Invitational

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Harding men's indoor track team placed third of seven teams Friday at the UCM Invitational, hosted by the University of Central Missouri inside the Multipurpose Building. Harding totaled 80 points, trailing only host Central Missouri, who finished with 145 points and Emporia State at 93 points. The other six teams in the event were all member of the NCAA Division II Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA).

In the meet, Harding won four event titles, posted two NCAA provisional marks and broke one school record.

Both provisionals and the school record came in the pole vault where freshman Dorian Chaigneau broke his week-old record by clearing 5.13 meters (16 feet, 10 inches) to place second. Junior Alex Hindman also topped the NCAA standard by clearing 4.83 meters (15-10).

Harding won two individual event titles and claimed two relay victories. Freshman Tad Kirby won the 200 meters in 22.84 seconds, and freshman Zach Reed won the mile in 4:27.51.

The team of Nikolas Csokas, Dakarai Bush, Kirby and Fallou Gaye won the 4x400 meters in 3:25.07. Jackson Pruim, Matt Hipshire, Wes Laughary and Reed won the distance medley in 10:44.26.

Other top six finishes on the track:
In the 200 meters, sophomore Krishaun Watson was fourth (23.33) with Bush fifth (23.34) … Csokas placed second in the 600-yard run in 1:14.23 … freshman Tiag Campney was fourth in the 800 in 2:02.84 … Pruim was fourth in the mile in 4:31.33 … Bush placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.78.

Other top six finishes in the field events:
Senior Austin Parrish and sophomore Ben Farris tied for sixth in the pole vault, clearing 4.68 meters (15-04.25) … Cedric Gable was fifth in the long jump (6.65m/21-10) and Kirby was sixth (6.63m/21-9).

Harding's next schedule meet is Jan. 29-30 at the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, Kansas.
