The Harding women's golf team finished the first round of the NCAA D2 Central Regional on Monday after a four-and-a-half-hour rain delay at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri. Harding shot a 37-over 325 in round one, a program best round in an NCAA Regional.
Alicia Martinez led the Lady Bisons on Monday, shooting a 7-over 79 with 12 pars. Martinez is tied for 27
th. All-GAC Honorable Mention honoree
Brenda Sanchez used two birdies to shoot 9-over 81 and is tied for 32
nd.
Freshman
JoJo Perry also had two birdies in her round and finished tied for 37
th with a 10-over 82.
Abbey Bryan is in 42
nd with an 11-over 83.
Kiera Smith shot a 14-over 86 to finish the day tied for 45
th.
Rogers State shot an 11-over 299 to lead the tournament after Monday followed by Southwestern Oklahoma State and Arkansas Tech who are tied for second after 19-over 307 rounds.

Dustin Howell had this to say about his team's performance on Monday. "Only 36 of 160 women's golf teams are still playing in Division II. While we certainly didn't play our best today, I'm proud of the fight the ladies had despite the long rain delay."
The Lady Bisons will look to move up the leaderboard on Tuesday, teeing off the second round at 8:30 a.m.
