SEARCY – Harding softball player Nicole Shano picked up her second All-Region honor Thursday when she was named second team National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Central Region.
Shano is the fifth Harding player to be named NFCA All-Region. Lily Tanski and Chelsea Blankenship picked up the honor last season.
Nicole Shano, a junior from Peoria, Arizona, led the conference and set the Harding record for the most home runs in a season with 15. She also had 66 hits, 12 doubles and four triples during the 2022 season. She ranked second in the conference with a .757 slugging percentage and a .481 on base percentage. Shano also ranked third in the GAC in RBIs with 48.
NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted on the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2022 NFCA Division II All-America squads.
