Two Records Fall at Arkansas for Men's Indoor Track

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Two school records fell Friday, and the Harding men's indoor track and field team posted five provisional marks at the Arkansas Qualifier, hosted by the University of Arkansas at Randall Tyson Track.

Sophomore Antiwain Jones became the first Harding athlete ever to clear seven feet in the high jump. He broke his own school record of 6 feet, 11.50 inches by clearing 2.15 meters or 7 feet, ½ inch.

Freshman Anton Kopytko broke a 36-year-old record in the long jump. He recorded a provisional mark of 7.16 meters or 23 feet, 6 inches, eclipsing the previous mark of 23 feet, 5.50 inches, set by Kevin Brewer in 1987.

Other provisional marks included freshman Vlad Malykhin at 5.30 meters or 17 feet, 4.50 inches in the pole vault. Junior Jonathan Wall cleared 4.80 meters or 15 feet, 9 inches. Freshman Yves Bilong posted a mark of 15.25 meters or 50 feet, ½ inch in the triple jump.

The Arkansas Qualifier was the final regular season indoor meet for the Bisons.

The NCAA will announce the field for the NCAA indoor championships on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
