RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the Softball award winners for the fourth week of the 2023 season. Henderson State's Abbie Moore claimed Player of the Week while Oklahoma Baptist's Kayleigh Jones and Harding's
Lily Tanski shared the Pitcher of the Week honor.
#theGAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Abbie Moore, Henderson State, 3B, Sr., North Richland Hills, Texas
Moore went 6-for-11 to help the Reddies collect a series win against Northwestern Oklahoma State. She hit two home runs, scored four times and drove in six in the three-game set. She went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in the series opener. In game three, she collected three hits, including a two-run home run.
#theGAC SOFTBALL CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Kayleigh Jones, Oklahoma Baptist, RHP, Sr., Claremore, Oklahoma
Jones collected three wins as the Bison improved to 14-4. Struck out 29 in 24.0 innings of work to raise her total to a Division II-leading 123. She surrendered just one unearned run across her four appearances. She has allowed just one earned run in 75.0 innings for an ERA of 0.09, the lowest amongst all pitchers with at least 25.0 innings pitched.
#theGAC SOFTBALL CO- PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Lily Tanski, Harding, RHP, Sr., Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Tanski earned two wins in the Lady Bisons series victory against Oklahoma Baptist. She struck out eight in a 3-1 win on Saturday. She matched Jones pitch-for-pitch in a 12-inning classic on Sunday. She recorded a six-hit shutout in the 1-0 win. She held the Bison to a .209 average.
