11th-Ranked Harding Men's Track Wins Rhodes 7-Way Meet

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Here is a summary of the 11th-ranked Harding men's track performance Saturday at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet:
  • Harding won the meet with 195 points, defeating Mississippi College (185), Rhodes (119), Christian Brothers (65), Hendrix (57), and Millsaps (36).
  • Harding won five events: Dakarai Bush in the 200 meters (21.44 seconds), Savian Bush in the 110 hurdles (14.56 seconds), Vlad Malykhin in the pole vault (5.31 meters or 17 feet, 5 inches), Casen Hammitt in the javelin (55.77 meters or 183 feet) and the 4x100 relay (41.52 seconds).
  • Vlad Malykhin's mark in the pole vault was Harding's lone NCAA provisional. It matches Malykhin's top clearance of the season and ranks fourth in Division II.
  • Kelmen de Carvalho also competed in the decathlon at the Carl Kight Invitational in Nacogdoches, Texas. He placed second with 6,348 points.
