Playing for the first time since March 14, the Harding women's golf team opened the GAC Championships on Sunday with a 38-over 326 in Round 1 and is in sixth place. Henderson State leads the field with a 5-over 293 on Sunday. 

Brenda Sanchez opened her tournament with a 6-over 78 in Round 1 and sits in 14th place. Sanchez's score was her best round since February 28th. Ines Sanchez posted a 9-over 81 and is in 22nd. 

All-GAC Honorable Mention honoree Alicia Martinez shot an 11-over 82 and is tied for 25th. The other All-GAC Honorable Mention honoree for Harding, Pilar Martinez, shot a 12-over 84 and is tied for 28th. Kodie Winnings was the final Lady Bison to finish, and posted a 13-over 85 and is tied for 31st. 

The Lady Bisons will begin their second round on Monday (April 24), teeing off at 8:50 a.m.
