Harding Track in Action at Ole Miss and Southern Arkansas

SEARCY – Harding men's track and field was in action at two meets this weekend – the Ole Miss Classic and the Dan Veach Invitational, hosted by Southern Arkansas.

The highlights from Ole Miss:

Sophomore Anton Kopytko broke his own school record in winning the long jump … his first jump was 7.44m (24-5), breaking his previous mark of 7.41m (24-3.75) … Kopytko ranks fifth in D2 in the long jump.
Senior Dakarai Bush won both the 200 meters and 400 meters … he won the 200 in 21.30 seconds and the 400 meters with a provisional time of 46.89 seconds … Bush ranks second in D2 in the 400 meters.
Junior Savian Bush placed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a provisional time of 13.93 seconds … he is ranked second in D2 in the 110-meter hurdles.
Junior Antiwain Jones won the high jump with a clearance of 2.09m (6-10.25) … his season-best time of 2.20m (7-2.50) has him ranked as the top high jumper in D2.
Sophomore Vlad Malykhin placed second in the pole vault by clearing 5.36m (17-7) … it is the highest clearance in D2 this season.
Sophomore Casen Hammitt was fourth in the javelin with a throw of 56.07m (183-11).

The highlights from Southern Arkansas:

Senior Caleb Chunn won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:41.30.
Freshman Ryan McCarn was second in the 1,500 meters in 4:08.63.
Junior Seth West was third in the discus with a mark of 44.65m (146-6).
