SEARCY – The Great American Conference released its 2023-24 women's basketball postseason honors Wednesday ahead of the conference tournament beginning Thursday at FireLake Arena in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Harding's Josie Williams, a native of Conway, Arkansas, received the GAC Freshman of the Year Award. Williams averages 10.8 points per game and leads Harding in assists (68), steals (29) and 3-pointers (38). She is the fifth Lady Bison to earn the award, joining Montana Lewis (2012), A'ndi Haney (2014), Kellie Lampo (2018) and Sage Hawley (2021).
Harding had three players earn All-GAC – Hawley, Rory Geer and Aubrey Isbell.
Hawley, a senior from Memphis, Tennessee, earned First Team honors for the third consecutive season. She averages 15.3 points and a GAC-leading 10.1 rebounds per game. Hawley recently became the fourth Lady Bison with more than 1,000 career rebounds.
Geer, a junior from Grove, Oklahoma, received Second Team honors after taking honorable mention in 2023. Geer averages 10.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. She recently broke the school record for offensive rebounds in a season with 117.
Isbell, a junior from Mountain View, Arkansas, earned Second Team, her first all-conference award. She averages 10.8 points and 3.7 rebounds. Isbell has scored 20 or more points in three of the last six games.
Harding also had six players earn academic honors. Jorey Thorman received GAC Elite Scholar Athlete for having a 4.0 cumulative GPA with more than 70 credit hours. Regan Crawford, Sage Hawley, Aubrey Isbell, Ella Grace Thompson and Itziar Ugarte received GAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete for having a 3.7 cumulative GPA or higher with more than 70 credit hours.
Harding earned the No. 2 seed in the GAC Tournament and plays No. 7 seed Ouachita Baptist on Thursday at 2:15 p.m. Go to HardingSport.com for coverage links to follow the game.
