Harding Doubles Duo Opens Play at National ITA Cup Championship

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. — Harding women's tennis will make program history this week as the doubles pairing of freshman Brooke Coffman and senior Karli Roux competes at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup, the NCAA Division II national individual championship.

Coffman and Roux will be the first Harding women's doubles team ever to compete in the ITA Cup, which runs from Thursday, Oct. 16, through Sunday at Berry College.

The historic appearance comes after the duo reached the final of the ITA Central Region Championship, also a program first, earning them an at-large bid into the elite 16-team national draw.

Coffman (Naperville, Illinois) and Roux (Cape Town, South Africa) will open their tournament run in the Round of 16 against the ITA West Region doubles champions, Karola Suviste and Stina Larsson of Azusa Pacific.

The match is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 16, at 4 p.m.

The ITA Cup features the top individual players and doubles teams from NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA, and junior college ranks, crowning a national champion in each category.
