Harding's Cas de Ruiter Named MIAA/GAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week

SEARCY -- Harding University's Cas de Ruiter has been named the MIAA/GAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week in the South Division.

De Ruiter, a senior, went 3-1 over the weekend as the Bisons battled non-conference opponents on the road. He teamed with Adrian Solorzano to win two doubles matches, including a 6-1 victory over Edwards and Vicente Preto of Cameron. De Ruiter also won at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 7-5, helping Harding to a 4-3 win over Cameron.

De Ruiter's strong performance earned him the weekly conference honor.

The Harding men's tennis team will be back in action this weekend, facing a challenging slate of matches in Tyler, Texas. The Bisons will take on No. 23 Texas-Permian Basin, No. 16 UT Tyler, and Lubbock Christian, starting Saturday.
