Harding History: March 20 - Softball Doubles, Cacace Clinches, Tech Tumbles, Distance Domination

Below are highlights of Harding sports on March 20.

Softball
  • March 20, 2016 – Harding set a school record with seven doubles in a 10-1 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma. Kimmy Hendricks and Morgan Acosta had two doubles each in the game. Harding also had 18 hits in the game, the most by Harding in a road game.
Men's Tennis
  • March 20, 2015 – Harding began a six-match winning streak with a 5-4 victory over 36th-ranked Missouri-St. Louis in Searcy. The Bisons lost three tight doubles matches but rallied to win five of the six singles matches. Neto Cacace clinched the match with a 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 victory at No. 6.
Women's Tennis
  • March 20, 2008 – Harding defeated Arkansas Tech 7-2 in Russellville to boost its record to 10-2. It was the team's eighth straight win in what would be an 18-match winning streak. After the Tech victory, Harding won the next seven matches by perfect 9-0 scores. The Lady Bisons finished 21-6 and qualified for the NCAA regional tournament.
Men's Track
  • March 20, 2010 – Harding's Daniel Kirwa and Philip Biwott finished 1-2 in the 5,000 meters at the Rhodes Open in Memphis, Tennessee. Kirwa won in 14:24.54 with Biwott finishing second in a career-best 14:25.79. A little less than two months later, Kirwa broke Harding's school record in the event with a time of 13:58.86 at Georgia Tech and earned All-America honors with a fourth-place finish at nationals in May. Biwott's time at Rhodes placed him fourth on Harding's top-10 performers list in the 5,000 meters.
