Sanchez leads Lady Bisons to Sixth Place Finish at NSU Classic

Harding sophomore Brenda Sanchez finished the best 36-hole tournament of her career and lead the Lady Bisons to sixth at the 22nd Annual NSU Women's Golf Classic in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Tuesday. The Lady Bisons finished the tournament with a 32-over 608 with is the best 36-hole total under Dustin Howell and it is tied for the second best 36-hole total in school history. 
 
Sanchez shot her lowest round of the season, 1-over 73 to finish the tournament with a 4-over 148 and tied for eighth. It was Sanchez's second top-10 finish in as many tries this season, and the fourth of her career. Sanchez's tournament was also the seventh best 36-hole total in school history. 
 
Alicia Martinez and Abbey Bryan both produced their best 36-hole totals of their careers finished tied for 20thwith a 7-over 151. Martinez shot a 3-over 75 while Bryan shot a 5-over 77 in Round 2. 
 
Julie Ferro shot a 10-over 82 on Tuesday to finish tied for 58th with a 16-over 160. Kodie Winnings finished tied for 64th with an 18-over 162 after shooting 8-over 80 on the final day. 
 
Henderson State won the tournament with an even 576 and Gracen Blount of Henderson State won the individual title with a 7-under 137. 
 
The Lady Bisons will return to action On October 11 and 12 when they travel to Hot Springs to compete in the Battle of the Belt hosted by Henderson State.
