The Harding women's golf team had two individuals qualify for the NCAA Central Region Tournament on May 2-4 at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Brenda Sanchez and
Alicia Martinez are the first individuals to qualify for the Central Regional since Brittney Marquez in 2014.
Sanchez and Martinez are coming off top-10 finishes at the GAC Women's Golf Championships on April 10-12. Sanchez finished in fifth place with a 9-over 225 while Martinez finished tenth with a 16-over 232. Sanchez has posted three top five finishes this season while Martinez has posted three top-10 finishes.
Sanchez and Martinez are having the two best seasons in program history.
Brenda Sanchez has the best scoring average in a single season in Lady Bisons history with an average score of 76.8. Martinez has the second-best singles season scoring average in school history with a score of 78.2.
The MIAA leads the tournament field with five teams and two individuals while the GAC has three teams and three individuals. The NSIC has one team and one individual to round out the tournament field.
