Sophomores Brenda Sanchez and Alicia Martinez finished their first rounds at the NCAA Central Regional in Hot Springs, Arkansas on Monday (May 2) as individuals of the Harding women's golf team.
 
Sanchez made three birdies in her opening round and shot a 3-over 75 to finish the day tied for 12^th in the 51-golfer tournament. It is the fifth tournament of the season that Sanchez has shot a 75 in the opening round.
 
Martinez finished her day tied for 35^th with a 9-over 81.
 
Rogers State leads the team tournament with an 8-over 296. Susana Olivares of Central Oklahoma and Allycia Gan of Missouri Western State are atop the individual leaderboard with a 2-under 70.
 
The tournament will resume on Tuesday (May 3) morning, teeing off at 9 a.m.
