CONWAY, Ark. – Harding senior Jenna Akins opened the 2024 outdoor track and field season with an NCAA provisional mark in the long jump at the Hendrix Alumni Open.

Akins landed at 5.86m (19-2.75) on her fourth jump, a new personal best. Akins also placed third in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.22 seconds.

Harding also had three more top-three finishes in the field events. Senior Madison Hiteshew placed second in the discus at 40.02m (131-3) and freshman Brylee Stewart was third at 39.32m (129-0). Hiteshew was also third in the hammer with a throw of 40.61m (133-3).

Harding's top finisher in the running events was sophomore Josie Parks who placed second in the 800 meters in 2:18.69.
