Ogunmakinju Places Second in 400 Meters at Indoor National Championship

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Harding freshman Omolara Ogunmakinju became the first Lady Bison ever to earn All-America honors in the indoor 400 meters with a second-place finish Saturday at the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Ogunmakinju, a native of Akure, Nigeria, broke her own school record in the 400-meter preliminaries Friday with a time of 52.77 second. In the final, she crossed the tape second in 52.85 seconds.

With the eight points Ogunmakinju scored, Harding finished tied for 22nd in the team competition.
