No. 8 Harding Women's Track and Field Shines with 11 Event Victories at Rhodes 7-Way Meet

MEMPHIS – Harding's women's track and field team, ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division II, showcased their prowess at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet on Saturday, securing three NCAA provisional marks and an impressive 11 event victories.

Two of Harding's provisional marks were achieved in the sprint events. Senior Briana Johnson set a personal record with a time of 11.81 seconds, clinching victory in the 100 meters. Freshman Omolara Ogunmakinju also achieved a personal best, clocking 24.16 seconds to win the 200 meters.

The third provisional mark was attained in the javelin, where senior Anna Kay Clark triumphed with a toss of 43.71m (143-5).

In addition to the provisional marks, Harding claimed victories in various running events. Sophomore Lisa Retailleau won the 400 meters in 56.33 seconds, while sophomore Josie Parks secured victory in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:46.25.

The team of Retailleau, Ogunmakinju, Cella Nguema, and Johnson claimed the 4x100-meter relay, finishing in 46.97 seconds.

Harding continued their winning streak in field events, capturing five additional victories. Junior Kiera Blankinship triumphed in the high jump with a clearance of 1.65m (5-5), while freshman Taylor Hankins claimed victory in the pole vault, clearing 3.60m (11-9.75). Sophomore Emily Patterson emerged victorious in the long jump with a mark of 5.37m (17-7.5). Senior Mariah Miller dominated the triple jump with a mark of 11.91m (39-1), and senior Madison Hiteshew clinched victory in the discus with a mark of 42.21m (138-6).

Next on Harding's schedule is participation in meets hosted by Arkansas and Arkansas State next weekend.
