Harding Women's Track and Field Places Second at GAC Championship

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The 20th-ranked Harding women's track and field team placed second of 10 teams at the 2024 Great American Conference Track and Field Championships on Saturday.
Harding accumulated 170 points and claimed seven individual titles.

Harding's individual champions included Briana Johnson in the 100 meters (11.90), Cella Nguema in the 100-meter hurdles (13.96), Lisa Retailleau in the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.69), Kiera Blankinship in the high jump (1.66m, 5-5.25), Cadence Sansom in the pole vault (3.73m, 12-2.75), Hanna Onufriieva in the triple jump (12.01m, 39-5), and Anna Kay Clark in the javelin (44.15m, 144-10).

Harding did not break any school records in the meet but did turn in five NCAA provisional marks/times.

The provisional times included Omolara Ogunmakinju (55.57, 400 meters), Cella Nguema (13.96, 100-meter hurdles), Lisa Retailleau (1:01.69, 400-meter hurdles), Hanna Onufriieva (12.01m, 39-5, triple jump), and Anna Kay Clark (44.15m, 144-10, javelin).

Harding has now finished either first or second in all eight GAC Championship meets.

In addition to the athletic achievements, Harding had six team members—Jenna Akins, Anna Kay Clark, Jessica Davis, Jayden Ellerman, Emily Patterson and Sydney Soto—receive GAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete honors for posting a GPA of 3.70 or higher with 70 or more hours.

Harding had five team members—Kaia Bieker, Kiera Blankinship, Ashley Gray, Meghan McElroy and Kylie Phillips—earn GAC Elite Scholar Athlete for posting a perfect 4.00 GPA with 70 or more hours.
